Summer Arabic Intensive


EC's Summer Arabic Intensive Program generally covers 1 module of our Arabic Modular Program. It is open for students of all backgrounds whether they are studying for personal enrichment, gain direct access to the Qur`an or even future academic study. Designed as a rigorous language programme, it integrates the acquisition of reading, writing, and comprehension skills at an accelerated pace.

 

By the end of this course students should:

 

·         Be able to read simple Arabic texts (at times with the support of a dictionary)

·         Be capable of basic conversation using simple vocabulary 

·         Have a vocabulary of approximately 200 words

·         Be familiar with the most common Syntax concepts 

·         Learn and memorise the most common forms of the Arabic verb

Outcomes:

 

By the end of this course students should:

·         Be able to read simple Arabic texts (with the aid of a dictionary)

·         Be capable of basic conversation using simple vocabulary 

·         Have a vocabulary of approximately 200 words

·         Be familiar with the most common Syntax concepts 

·         Learn and memorise the most common forms of the Arabic verb

 

Who is it for?

 

This course is for complete beginners to Arabic Grammar. However, it does assume prior knowledge of the following:

·         Familiarity with the Arabic alphabet and the ability to read (without comprehension).

·         Basic ability to join the Arabic letters.

 

Students will be emailed after enrolment a writing pack which may help in achieving the requirements stated above.

 

Duration

 

The course can be studied in the following two ways:

   a) 3 Weeks intensive DAYTIME - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, between 11am-2pm (36 hours)

b) 5 Weeks intensive WEEKEND - Saturdays and Sundays, between 11am-2pm (30 hours)

c) 3 Week intensive EVENINGS - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, between 6-9pm (36 hours)
