About Ebrahim College

Ebrahim College (EC) is the flagship project of Ebrahim Al-Khalil Trust and its main hub of academic activity. The College specialises in Islamic studies and the Islamic Sciences but also offers a wide range of AS/A level and GCSE subjects as part of its 6th Form provision.

EC began as a 6th Form in 2003 offering school leavers and adults the opportunity to study both Traditional Islamic Sciences and mainstream A level and GCSE subjects in an Islamic environment incultating Islamic values and character. After success with A levels combined with the first 3 years of the Alim course (the Islamic Sciences Programme (ISP)), the College extended its offering in 2006 and added the undergraduate level of the Alim course (the Alimiyyah programme) to its provision. In the near future, the College will offer BA Islamic Sciences and Society (validated by a British University) to complement the Alim course and enable students to graduate as Ulama with a recognised undergraduate qualification.

EC offers the following full-time programmes:

The full Alim Course over 7 years. The first 3 introductory years cover the Islamic Sciences Programme, along with a choice of AS/A levels for 6th formers. The next 3 years cover the Alimiyyah programme. The Alim course then concludes with the Takmeel programme which is a year of intense hadith study. See the Alim Course section for more details.

Ebrahim College 6th Form: AS/A levels combined with the Islamic Sciences Programme (ISP), and GCSE retakes. More information in the 6th Form section.
