Tajweed Module 2


 

This course continues on from the level 1 course and mainly focuses on extended practice of recitation and tajweed rules implementation in reading. The course is suitable for anyone who has studied some tajweed before at a basic level so that he/she is aware of the common rules and is able to recite with some tajweed application but now requires more prolonged training and practice. Tajweed Module 2


This course continues on from the Module 1 course and mainly focuses on extended practice of recitation and tajweed rules implementation in reading. The course is suitable for anyone who has studied some tajweed before at a basic level so that he/she is aware of the common rules and is able to recite with some tajweed application but now requires more prolonged training and practice.

 

 

Following are the objectives of this Module:

 

1) Practical reading: - for one to continue to improve in reading with the basic rules inntroduced in the previous module. Thereafter, at the end of this course a student should have become more fluent in reading while maintaining the accuracy likewise. One should be able to implement in their reading the rules of Tajweed which is introduced at this level.

 

 

2) Theory:- To learn the basic rules (theory and practical) of the following:

  • Nun Sakin and Tanweed rules: Izhaar, Ikhfaa, Idghaam and Iqlab
  • Meem Sakin
  • 'Laam' of Allah

 

3) Memorisation: - To memorise 10 surahs of the Qur`an (at-Teen - Humazah) with full tajweed. (Please not memorisation of Surahs may differ with some student, depending on if they have previosuly memeorised these surahs correctly)

Maulana Abdur Rahman


From 2005 to 2010 Maulana Abdur Rahman studied at Madinatul Uloom Al-Islamiya, Kidderminster, wherein he had extensively studied Islamic Theology, covering a wide range of the Islamic sciences, under the guidance of prominent scholars. Thereafter, he studied the six authentic books of ahaadeeth and completed the Islamic Theology course in 2011 at Darul Uloom London.

 

He is currently in the second year of his degree studying BEng (Hons) Software Engineering at the University of Greenwich, and alongside his studies He is also a teacher of Quran, Tajweed and Fiqh at Westferry Community Organisation. In addition I am also currently working as a part-time software developer at GWizards, London.

Ustadha Bilkis


 

Bilkis was born and brought up in East London. She is a Tajweed teacher at Ebrahim College. She also teaches the Access to Arabic course for beginners and is a teaching assistant for the Ebrahim College Arabic Intensive course. She has been teaching Tajweed classes for children and adult females since 2009. Bilkis studied the science of tajweed at Habiba Institute and Utrujj Foundation in London, including the tajweed text of Al Jazariyyah and she has undertaken teacher training with Habiba Institute. She is currently continuing further studies in tajweed and Arabic. [Some of her teachers include Ustadha Muhsina Thahera, Ustadha Amina Khatun, Shaykh Haytham Tamim, Shaykh Marwan Ghayalini and Shaykh Ahmad Saad.] She also has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Economics from University College London and SOAS.

Studied a 3 year Arabic Language & Islamic Studies Programme at Jamia Al Hudaa (Nottingham).

Thereafter began teaching Tajweed to both adults and children alongside studying a BEd, in Primary Education & QTS. 

Studied Tajweed further in Jordan and Syria and received Ijazah in the Qira'ah of the Qur'an from Shaykh Al-Kurdi of Damascus.

Currently at EC, teaching Tajweed to students on the Full-time Intensive programme and the evening adult part time courses. 

In the weekends a Quran Teacher for Habiba Institute and Palmers Green Masjid in North London.
